B&B Hotel Zaragoza Royal

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the same problems we reported on our previous stay a year ago are still there. It was so hot that the air conditioning wouldn't turn on, so we slept with the windows open and could hear noise from neighboring buildings. The pillows were very soft and uncomfortable, and the shower suddenly turned hot, which felt dangerous when it happened last year too. Flushing the toilet was very loud, and we could hear toilets in our room and on both sides in the middle of the night. We asked whether it might be possible to switch from two single beds to a double. The receptionist was pleasant but said it couldn't be done because the hotel was full. It's a four-floor hotel, and we were there for two days without seeing other guests, so it felt as if they might not have been very interested in helping. I could be wrong, but it seemed strange.

The bathrooms are roomy and come with toiletries, and the rooms themselves are nice and cozy. The room did get a little hot; staff said the air ventilation system wasn't working yet. Getting to the Old Town takes a while on foot, though it's still walkable.

The check-in receptionist was especially kind, polite, and helpful, and getting into the garage was seamless. The rooms were very clean, the bathrooms were nice, and having a full-sized bathtub was great. I'd give it five stars if the mattresses weren't a bit old and in need of replacement.

The staff are good and the hotel is nice, but looking at earlier reviews, it seems some issues still haven't been addressed. The Wi-Fi is weak, and the room air conditioning doesn't cool enough. Maybe they could vary the breakfast menu now and then. I heard water and a kettle may no longer be provided complimentary.
