Hotel Tirago

We really enjoyed staying here. The staff are lovely and helpful, the price is reasonable, and the rooms are spotless. The coffee is strong, too. Breakfast is adequate, but get there before supplies start running low. Hot water wasn’t consistent, which we’d also run into throughout our month in Ethiopia.

The rooms are spacious, and the heater and internet worked well. Breakfast is included, with local dishes like injera, and it was worth having. The restaurant is good too if you want to eat at the hotel. They can arrange a driver and guide for a full-day tour of Addis Ababa. It’s reasonably priced and not far from the airport. Just know that rooms 207 and 307 get noise from the nightclub outside.

It’s a little hidden, but that also makes it quieter and safer than most of the main roads in Addis. The staff are always around to help, and for the price, I think it’s the best hotel in the area. The quality is clear as soon as you arrive. Everything is well kept: the toilet wasn’t leaking, all the lights worked, and there were plenty of power sockets.

My room matched the pictures, the shower was amazing, and the food was great. The staff were really friendly too. It took me a little while to find the hotel since I was moving around a lot, and the sockets in my room didn’t charge my phone properly, but I still loved my stay.
