Monarch Parkview Hotel

We had a bad experience at Saffron Restaurant. The space on the first floor was cozy and had a nice atmosphere, but the starter didn’t look like a starter and came with the main dish. Our lasagna and salmon Alfredo pasta were cold, so we had to ask for them to be heated. We also had to remind the waiter several times about what we wanted. We went for dinner with a friend.

The lobby at Monarch Parkview Hotel is one of the prettiest I’ve seen, with cozy couches, elegant design, and a vintage collection that gives it character. They also make one of the best sandwiches, and the place is clearly popular with tourists. It’s a great spot with a charming feel. My only complaint is that there aren’t enough places to charge a laptop if you plan to work there.

Service at Monarch hotel is great, everyone seems willing to help, and breakfast is fresh and delicious. Their firfir is especially good and worth trying. Restaurants 360 is beautiful, with a nice skyline view, and there are a few coffee shops, a bank, and ethio telecom within easy walking distance. The hotel is convenient for Bole and nearby areas like meskel square, lideta, and arada. People who drive for services like Uber generally know where it is. Friendship Park, Ethiopian science Museum, and the dome are also worth a visit, about 20/25 minutes on foot or less than a 10 minute ride away.

The staff are friendly, and the room is quite comfortable. It’s manageable, though it isn’t what I’d call a typical five star place. There’s no AC because Ethiopia is generally cold. I asked for one, but it may not arrive, as happened to me. I got used to the room after a while. The food is okay, depending on your taste.
