North Addis Hotel

My wife and I stayed at North Addis International Hotel from January 2 to January 9, 2024. It’s a very peaceful, quiet place, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food cost a little more than what we paid at the hotels we stayed in last year. The airport shuttle is included only once. When I needed a ride to the airport another time, I paid the hotel 500 ETB. Make sure to agree with them on the airport trips beforehand. They’re renovating at the moment, and Ethiopia can have power or even water outages, though this hotel has backup power on site. I’ve stayed here a few times and never had a problem. The staff are great, helpful, and even remembered my name after a year. If something’s wrong, talk to the daytime staff and they’ll do their best to sort it out. Ask if you can’t find something, since it may be available. They also offer airport pickup and drop-off. I’ll be back.

We liked the quieter location, where we got a glimpse of everyday life in Ethiopia. The main attractions in Addis Ababa were still an easy walk or a cheap taxi ride away. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and we ended up extending our stay by a few days because it was so comfortable. The bed was great, and we really enjoyed the restaurant food.

I’ve stayed here twice now and will be back. The beds are very comfortable, and breakfast on the terrace in the morning sun was lovely. There’s a bar and restaurant with local and international dishes, including North Addis specials, plus Wi-Fi in the rooms. It’s not far from Piazza and Addisu Gebeya, and the staff and management are friendly and helpful with travelers’ needs. Airport transfers are free.
