The HUB Hotel

The rooms were comfortable, and I had a smooth, stress-free stay at The Hub Hotel. It’s clean, modern, and conveniently close to the airport. I especially appreciated how the staff helped me get around Addis Ababa. I didn’t know the city, so I asked Teansae Yilma for help, and he arranged a safe, trustworthy driver to take me from A to B. The fare was very reasonable too. Everyone was welcoming and professional, and that care helped me feel secure. I’d gladly recommend the hotel to visitors and will come back.

A lovely place, though it’s a bit far from the airport and the neighborhood isn’t the best. My room didn’t have air conditioning, but there were enough blankets. The food was okay.

We’d never stay here again. I’m here during a transit right now, March 3, 2026, and this has been a mess. We waited over an hour for pickup, and Fikru Abebe, the person collecting us, was rude and unprofessional. Check-in has taken even longer. We’ve been waiting since 1:30pm and only got into the room after 4pm. The receptionist gave us the wrong keys four times in a row, so I had to go up and down with my luggage and baby. The poor management wasted our time and caused problems for my baby, and the manager couldn’t get anything right. There’s no A/C in the room, either. It feels like they take money from airlines but don’t want to provide service.

I was a guest in transit and checked out early the next morning, so I didn’t get a chance to raise what happened. While I was asleep, at around 1:50 a.m., two staff members opened my room door and stood there talking. Waking up to that was frightening. There was no hot water in the room, and the restaurant staff were the only people who were welcoming and helpful.
