The location in Sarbet worked really well for us. Fantu Supermarket is an easy walk, and Lafto Mall and Adams Pavilion are nearby. Lafto has shops, restaurants, a gym, a spa, and Tiny Town for kids. Adams Pavilion has shops and a café. There’s also an ice cream shop, a café next door with good food and coffee, a pizzeria across the street with a coloring station, several banks on the street, and parking at the hotel. It’s near embassies, Addis Ababa Golf Club, and International Community School of Addis Ababa. We stayed for a week in the family suite with our daughter. It had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen, with room for her to play. The kitchen basics, washing machine, and drying rack were handy. We had enough cooking utensils for a week, though a longer stay might call for more. The real plants gave the suite a homey feel. It was clean and well maintained, and the cleaning staff were lovely. The building felt secure, reception welcomed us warmly, and the elevator was useful with kids and luggage. WiFi was strong, hot water was always available, and we had no power outages. Breakfast had lots of choice and was included in our booking. There’s a free, well-stocked gym on the seventh floor. Everyone we met, from the front door staff to management and the restaurant team, was kind and ready to help. A couple of small fixes would help: water leaked during showers, and some bathroom door handles need securing. I’d stayed in several Bole hotels before, but chose this part of the city after researching carefully, and I’m glad I did. My family and I had a fantastic stay. It’s especially good for people travelling with small children, and this will be our go-to in Addis Ababa.

The shuttle was clean and very good, and Eyob was a pleasant driver. I also appreciated management letting me check out late since my flight was in the evening. I stayed at Victory Guesthouse Apartments for five days in May 2022 and was very happy there. On checkout day I’d left my wallet on the counter, assuming nobody would clean the room. When I returned, it had been cleaned and nothing was missing. The staff’s honesty stood out. I learned management treats the staff like family, which helped explain their loyalty to the place. Kudos to the owner and management. Thanks to everyone for making those five days comfortable. I’d stay again when I’m in Addis and recommend the guesthouse to anyone travelling to Addis Ababa. I booked this place for my parents while they were visiting. They’re usually five-star hotel people, but they were really happy here. The rooms were nice, the owner was kind, and the location was great. It’s a busy area, yet it wasn’t too noisy.

After being away from Addis for more than twenty years, going back was quite an experience. One of the best parts was staying at Victoria Guest House. The place was very neat, and the staff made us feel welcome while staying professional. Room service was available around the clock, and there were lots of shopping areas close by. The WiFi in our room was excellent. It’s near AU and the airport, and generally a comfortable place for anyone to stay.

Watch out if you’re visiting in the cold season, and make sure your room has hot water. I had none for two of my three nights. Reception sent someone up twice, and they got lukewarm water going, but by the time I was ready to shower it was freezing again. They refused to move me at first. After a heated discussion and calls to a senior executive, they finally changed my room.
