Home Hotel Jugend

We spent three nights here as a family and would definitely return. The castle-like feel as you walk in is lovely, and the trams are just a three-minute walk away. They run every few minutes and take you to the center, trains, and ferries. The beds were very comfortable, the pillows soft, and the rooms quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were included, along with afternoon cake, tea, and coffee. Everything was fresh and delicious. Breakfast had a good selection, and dinner was a proper home-cooked set menu served buffet-style, with tasty soup, bread, and a variety of salads. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We came just for dinner. The restaurant is in the basement of a beautiful art nouveau building, and the food was simple but tasty. The buffet is usually for hotel guests, but non-guests can have it too for only 16 euros. The service was really friendly. I highly recommend it.

Dinner was good, and the central location helped make this a good experience, but several things need attention. The evening noise in my room came from an unknown source. I also didn’t like being near a strip club. My premium room had no slippers, the espresso machine didn’t work, and the transparent shower wall meant someone in the bedroom could see whoever was showering. It needs a curtain. The gym was disappointing, especially the running machine. Public toilets are unisex, as in other Strawberry hotels, and that means they’re unclean. Service depended on the receptionist, though some were excellent. I’d like to see slippers, a privacy curtain, a normal running machine, and single-sex public toilets.

Vincent at the front desk was especially kind and helpful, and the staff were polite and ready to help with everything we needed. The hotel was spotless and quiet, and breakfast and dinner were quite satisfactory. It exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it.
