Hotelli Sointu

For my yearly trip to Steelfest Open Air, I picked this hotel. It’s close to the Jarvenpää station, which makes getting to Hyvinkää in about 15 minutes easy.

The location next to the train station was great, and the hotel was clean, modern, and very nice. Check-in was going to be a little late, but customer service helped move it earlier. Thanks 😊

The hot shower had good water pressure, at least, but there were plenty of problems. The Wi-Fi was very bad, the room was cold, the fridge noisy, and the walls thin. Breakfast was basic, and I only got the access code at the last possible moment after asking repeatedly. One night, when the door closed, it simply wouldn’t lock from the inside. The security chain was the only thing keeping it in place. The bathroom sink plumbing was shoddy too. At least one emergency exit on the first floor was locked, so the stairs weren’t usable up or down and I could only take the lift. I wonder if that’s normal.

I was so glad I switched to this hotel. It’s a few commuter train stations away from where I needed to be, but the room was peaceful, comfortable, spacious, and really clean, just a few steps from Järvenpää station. There was a good-sized air conditioner in the room too. Breakfast was good, with gluten-free options and oat milk. The room also had instant coffee, tea, milk, sugar, a microwave, a water cooker, cups, plates, and cutlery. The station is right nearby, with frequent trains to other towns and nearby stations. Staff replied quickly to messages, and they smoothly arranged for us to arrive an hour early. I’ll book again!
