One handy feature is that you can reach the swimming hall and spa next door through the hotel’s downstairs area. Wristbands are available in the lobby, which works really well. The hotel itself is decent, though some rooms show minor wear and the soundproofing could be better. It sits across the bridge from the rest of Kajaani, so that’s something to keep in mind in winter. I had a good stay and would recommend it, even though there are little things that could be improved.

The hotel has an interesting history, and I thought it was good value for the price. The rooms have what you need and the breakfast was fabulous. The only thing I could think of adding is a few electric car chargers, whether provided by the hotel or available as public chargers. I’d recommend staying here.

The room was plain but fun, with a strong 80’s feel, and it was warm even with the heating turned off. The hotel is a little dated. The new owners seem to have more ambition, though I noticed it more in the marketing than in the actual experience. Breakfast sounded better on the menu than it turned out to be, and was pretty basic. The reception amenities were overpriced, if I remember right a toothbrush was 9 €. We didn’t have time to try the spa.

For this price, the hotel is really poor. The rooms are old and quite dirty, and the WiFi connection is still a problem. Breakfast is the same each time and there isn’t much of it. I won’t stay here again.

The rooms were large and warm, and the hotel was good. The sauna, though, was a little cold.
