Hotelli Paanulinna

The rooms were spacious and really clean, and the owners deserve a big thank-you for such a thoughtful stop. We drove from Lofoten to Helsinki with our dog and got to Hotel Kärsämäki late in the evening, halfway through the trip. For that reasonable price, we hadn't expected much, but it exceeded our expectations again and again, even compared with our previous night's stay at Scandic Kiruna. There was a proper drinking cup for the dog in the pet room, extra pillows, a hairdryer in the bathroom, a proper fridge for snacks, and earplugs waiting on the bedside table. Scandic had none of those basics, and the night before we were rummaging through our luggage for cups. Across the road there's a fenced dog park, and next door there's a gas station, an eatery open late, and an S-Market. We were still looking forward to trying breakfast the next morning, but the stay had already made us feel at home. Hope lots of travelers find this place! 🇫🇮❤️

There was enough to choose from at breakfast. Getting in was easy even though we arrived late, since you can call for the key box code. A few moped drivers were noisy, but it didn't interrupt the night. Handy spot for tourists just passing through.

It’s a hotel set up for self-service, and things are organized for convenience. We couldn't find a bottle opener in the room. Also, disposable cups in the room feel outdated and aren't an ecological choice.

The rooms were a decent size and very clean, and it's a nice place to stay. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. The cashiers at the cheese gate could use some basic customer service training. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip. Thanks!
