I stayed here after our hostel coordinator booked it for us. We arrived late, but they still gave us a delicious dinner. The staff on duty, a thoughtful man and a baby-faced woman, gave us a warm welcome. The room was a little dated, though very clean, right down to the corners. Hot water came quickly, and the panel-style heater kept it warm on winter nights. Breakfast is buffet-style, with enough to eat even if the selection isn't broad. This is a local hotel in the small Finnish town of Kuhmo, with many rooms but an atmosphere more like a Japanese pension. Like most Finnish hotels, it has few amenities, so bring a toothbrush. Don't expect it to be like a Japanese hotel. I'd recommend it if you're heading north from Helsinki.

They were extremely flexible and took our needs into account. The little kitchen corner was a nice extra. They were especially thoughtful with our small group, even arranging coffee and tea in a thermos.
