Holiday Club Rönnäs

The cottage itself is roomy and clean, with terrace furniture tucked among the bushes. The grounds could use some care: there are no garbage bins around, and the yards have long grass and brushwood. The signs are worn and hard to understand. A bit of work could make the area really cozy.

The beds were comfortable, and the fresh, clean sheets and towels were a plus. There was plenty of room for our larger group, with three bedrooms and a roomy loft, and both the kitchen and sauna worked well. We had enough clean dishes, though I ran the dishwasher after meals. The fireplace gave the cottage a nice feel, and there was dry wood in the shed. The cottage was otherwise fine, and the terrace and mild weather helped with the small fridge when we were storing Christmas food for several people. There was no washing machine, which caught me by surprise, so we picked up underwear and socks at a nearby Tokmanni instead of doing laundry. It also has a pretty good food section. We spent Christmas week in cottage 7, but the underfloor heating never warmed up in the big downstairs living room, hall or washroom. The thermostat showed green, yet those floors stayed icy, as did the bedrooms and washroom. If the floor heating had worked, I'd have given it at least four stars.

It was very quiet, with a small beach and a short walking trail nearby, but beyond the golf course there's not much around. The cottage is pleasant and well equipped, though it has no grill, washing machine or drying cabinet. A rowing boat is included and shared with the neighboring cottage, but it's a hard one to row. An outboard motor would make more sense for a holiday.

You can relax on the big terrace and hear the birds, since the cottage is tucked away from traffic noise in a peaceful spot. Inside, it was spacious and worked well. The sauna was really good, and there were plenty of essentials like towels, toilet paper and kitchen paper.
