We spent a restorative February weekend at Billnäs Gård, and the dinners and breakfasts from the head chef were outstanding. There’s also a beautiful, atmospheric spa in the cellar that feels truly unique. The building has a calming, elegant feel, and the welcome and service were warm from the moment we arrived. My wife and I had a wonderful stay. We highly recommend Billnäs Gård and will be back.
The meditation spa and pool, along with the beautiful setting, good food, and excellent service, went beyond what we expected. It felt like heaven on earth, a hidden gem for relaxation and harmony. A warm five-star recommendation.
We were made to feel like family as soon as we arrived at Billnäs Gård. The villa’s warm facade welcomed us in from a winter night, and inside, the stylish early 1900s building has been lovingly restored by Chris and Taina. It’s beautiful inside and out, and the owners clearly care about guests’ health and well-being as well as sustainability and the environment. Oscar the chef is a magician. The four-course dinners and breakfasts were fit for royalty, looked wonderful, tasted amazing, and were zero waste. We also enjoyed the meditation spa and took refreshing dips in the outdoor saltwater pool while it was snowing. There was plenty to do. A donkey walk with Lugn and Ro, who are part of the family, otter spotting, and stargazing were arranged for us. Pamela, the events manager, was always available and made sure we were comfortable. She suggested the Brewery in Fiskars, which we enjoyed, and the Antique cafe for what she called “the best Cinnamon Rolls.” We also visited the artisan chocolate factory across the river. It’s run by a very talented French chocolatier, and you’re encouraged to try all the chocolate. Leave room in your suitcase for the treats. Words don’t quite capture this serene Finnish oasis. We can’t recommend Billnäs Gård highly enough and will return as soon as we can.
We came with a small group of friends to slow down and spend time together. We had planned meditation and painting, meals, and time to relax, and we enjoyed the activities as well as the food at dinner and breakfast. Chris and Taina have renovated the place from top to bottom while respecting its history. The design feels carefully considered, with a distinct atmosphere in each room and area. Everyone on staff was welcoming, warm, and professional without making things feel stiff. We also liked hearing about the renovation, the history, and the plans for the future. It’s about an hour from Helsinki, and I can see the place working well for private work retreats, strategy days, or team events. With limited space, groups can discuss important things without other groups there at the same time. I understand it’s used for those kinds of gatherings too. Thanks to Chris and Taina, Sofia, and the rest of the crew for making the weekend so memorable. I’ll definitely visit again soon, and look forward to trying the spa area that’s currently being built.
The garden is harmonious, the lunch was delicious, and the staff were friendly. The mansion has been beautifully restored inside and out, with a fantastic palette of colors in the interiors.
