Ski-Inn RukaSuites

The location was excellent, just a two-minute walk from the gondola and ski hire. There’s a well-stocked supermarket in the basement with good prices and friendly staff. Getting in and out was easy with the door code, which also opened the building and ski lockers. The apartment was much better than we expected. The kitchen had everything we needed, including an oven, hob, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, plenty of cutlery, and a fridge with an icebox. There was a big heated drying cabinet for ski gear, plus a good-sized sauna and shower. The beds were comfortable enough for a week, though the pillows could have been better. The lockers downstairs fit about four sets of gear, but not boots or helmets. I’d happily come back.

We spent most evenings watching movies and playing cards, with a great view of Ruka Village and the slopes lit up through the night. Having a sauna in our room was brilliant, and the door code worked well, even though we were used to keys. The rooms were practical and laid out nicely, so our family of four had a cosy, enjoyable stay despite the limited space. Downstairs there’s a pizza restaurant and a nice-looking bar. During the day you can get to the supermarket, Subway, restaurant, gift shops, and sports shops through the building without going outside. If you do head outdoors, everything in Ruka Village is close together.

After a day skiing, we’d use the sauna, shower, and settle in for the evening. The drying cupboard was useful too, since we could warm and dry our clothes at lunchtime before heading back out. We stayed in January 2022, and the apartment was comfortable, well equipped, and had a lovely view over a snowy landscape. Towels, bedding, body wash, dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid, and a cloth were all provided. Fully recommended 👌

The location was amazing, right in the heart of the village. We had a top-floor apartment facing the slopes, and could see everything from the bed and living area. It felt like live TV around the clock. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, glasses, a toaster, percolator, oven, and microwave, along with bin sacks, kitchen paper, cloths, washing-up liquid, and enough dishwasher tablets. There was a fridge but no freezer, so we left our ice cream outside on the snowy balcony and it was fine. The bathroom setup worked well for a family: one toilet room with a full sink, mirror, hairdryer, and wall cupboard, plus a separate bathroom with a sink, cupboard, shower, and sauna. The hot cupboard was great for drying clothes and boots after being out in the snow. The sofa was the one real downside. Its low back was uncomfortable, and after lying sideways on it I had bad back pain for four days, which spoiled part of the holiday. Bedroom 2 has no window, which may be fine for some kids but wasn’t ideal. I’d still recommend these suites.
