The only real plus was that we could walk to the city center. The rooms felt overpriced, even during opera season, and looked like they'd last been renovated 30 years ago. Bathrooms were like the economy cabins on Sweden ferries 20 years ago, and the bath towels were thin and cheap.

Its location is the big draw. The hotel is in an old hospital building beside the restaurant Huvila, and you can walk to both the town center and Olavinlinna castle. The rooms are small and cozy, with high ceilings and an extra bed up above. They have showers and a small kitchen, but no AC.

This is a pleasant summer hotel in what used to be an old hospital. There’s no air conditioning, though the thick walls helped. The location is good, with a short, scenic walk to Savonlinna market square and Olavinlinna.
