The owners were service minded, and the sauna by the beach strip had good löyly. We stayed five people in Kataja, which worked surprisingly well, though sharing one bathroom got tough at times. There are two outhouses near the smaller cabins, which are a must when visiting a mökki. The setting is quiet and beautiful, and you don’t feel right next to the other cabins. Savonlinna city center is close, about a 20 minute drive.

Autumn felt magical here. My family and I stayed in Hirkkahobi and loved the view over the water. Getting to the cabin means crossing a causeway to the island, with water all around the road.

The owners were honest and very service oriented. The cottages and equipment were in good shape and more than adequate. We also got better weather than promised, and there weren’t too many bugs.
