We were lucky enough to spot the northern lights over the cabins even though it was still snowing. Someone from another cabin let us know, so we headed outside after dinner and couldn't believe our luck. Dinner was simple and so good: moist baked potatoes, tasty, tender chicken, and smoked salmon. The host and hostess were both wonderful. We had an awesome stay.

We were really happy with our choice of hotel. The owners, a couple, were lovely and pointed us toward nearby places to visit. Be sure to order dinner: we got to try traditional Finnish food, and the bread, fish, chicken, and desserts were all delicious.

The owners cook breakfast and dinner themselves, and we loved both. Home-cooked food so far from home is a real treat. They also made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Our room was warm and cozy, and there’s a public sauna. The place feels homely, run by a husband and wife. In autumn and winter, the location works well for aurora watching, with a little slope behind the property that’s a great viewing spot. It also looks like a lovely base for spring or summer hikes.

I saw one of the brightest auroras of my trip here. The place is away from the city, so there’s very little light pollution. Our host was friendly and showed us around, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I had a very comfortable stay.

We stayed here as part of a tour group and really liked it. The traditional cottage is old, and the small rooms had enough space for two. It gave us a proper cottage hut experience. The owners were very nice, and dinner is a must: the traditional Finnish dishes were delicious, especially the bread, fish, chicken, and desserts.
