First Landing Beach Resort and Villas

We had a really good day at First Landing after coming off the cruise ship. The pool was lovely and just the right temperature, and we also had lunch and a swim at the beach. I’d definitely recommend spending a day at this resort 🌴

We only realised after leaving how much we’d enjoyed our time here. An airport incident meant we had to stay in Fiji longer than planned, but First Lansing was fully booked by then. The staff made us feel like family, with such warm hospitality and good energy. Our garden bure was spacious, cool and very clean. Even surrounded by nature, we didn’t see a single bug inside. Dinner was a real highlight. The food was delicious, especially the Carbonara and Kokoda. I’m Peruvian and proud of our food, and that Kokoda was the closest thing to a taste of home I’ve had in Fiji, a good ceviche. The musicians played live every night and sang with real feeling. Breakfast was included too, with satisfying fresh and hot choices. At low tide you can walk through the bay, which is beautiful and peaceful. The beach is small and private, and the pool is big. It’s a warm, cozy, traditional resort, not the fanciest or most modern, but it will stay in your heart. It’s a bit farther from port Denaru, where most day trips leave, so pickup and drop-off cost extra. We miss our First Landing Family and are very grateful for the stay.

For 20 FJD, two adults could use the pool and wander around the resort, which felt very affordable. There’s one public pool with loungers, and we had a meal at the restaurant that was good overall. The staff were pleasant and several greeted us. The mixed cocktails didn’t taste as though they had alcohol in them, though the bottled beer and wine were good. We also went over to Foot island, where there were picnic tables, but sadly quite a bit of rubbish on the grass.

It was peaceful, uncrowded, and really relaxing. The staff were so friendly, and prices were much cheaper than at the busy, expensive places. I loved watching both sunrise and sunset here. First Landing hotel is a great pick if you want a relaxing getaway.
