Tides Reach Resort

We got to try several activities and excursions during our week. The e-bikes and paddleboards at the property were so much fun, and we also went hiking, snorkeling, and on a West Coast island tour with Niu and Manasa. There's a coffee shop just a couple of minutes' walk away, right by the resort, with lovely spots to sit by the water and enjoy your coffee. Our hilltop bure was thoughtfully designed and had everything we needed, including excellent AC and Starlink internet. They'd always offer a ride uphill after meals if we didn't feel like walking. The property is beautiful, and we loved eating with a view of the water. The chef was excellent, and we missed the food as soon as we left. Many thanks to Irene for looking after us at every meal. The beautiful views and bures were lovely, but the staff's kindness and hospitality were a highlight of our trip. Everyone was wonderful, and we're so fortunate to have spent a week there. Next time we're in Fiji, we'll be back at Tides Reach. Vinaka vakalevu ❤️

The diving shop is right on site. Salt Diver Dive Shop took us out to the world-famous Rainbow Reef for two two-tank dives. The full moon meant strong currents, which limited access to some sites, but we loved Jerry’s Jelly and Cabbage Patch, with their stunning corals and colorful fish. AP and the dive team were fantastic. Just remember, it's Fiji time, so relax and enjoy. This was the last stop of our two-week Fiji trip, and Tides Reach felt like our own private island retreat, a welcome break from a busy life. It's on Taveuni, Fiji’s third-largest island, a short flight from Nadi. We arrived hours early because of a travel agent mix-up. A quick call was all it took for the resort to send a car. They welcomed us in traditional fashion with fresh coconut milk and a lovely breakfast of fruit, French toast, and scrambled eggs. That gracious hospitality set the tone for the stay. There are four spacious beachfront bures and four hillside ones. Ours had a huge bedroom, luxurious bathroom, walk-in closet, and front porch. Housekeeping left fresh tropical flowers each day. The rooms are nicely appointed with seating areas, comfortable bathrobes, a stocked fridge with complimentary drinks, Wi-Fi, and central A/C. Two beachfront bures are larger and have separate living rooms. The food was excellent, varied, beautifully presented, and made with fresh ingredients. We had warm bread, rolls, and muffins, plus homemade desserts. Lunch and dinner were usually three courses. One night there was a traditional Fijian lovo dinner with singing, dancing, and a taste of kava. Another evening was an incredible Indian buffet with about six curries. Thanks to the talented, humble chef and to Manasa, who runs the bar and restaurant so warmly. There was plenty to do, from snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and jet skiing to complimentary bikes and excursions organized by Niu, the Activities Director. Tides Reach was the perfect place to unplug, recharge, and be cared for so well. I'm usually always on the go, so it was an indescribable treat. On a scale of one to five, we'd give it a 10!

The beach was lovely, and the location was nice overall. We had everything we wanted and nothing we didn't. The rooms were beautifully designed, with solid beds, and the grounds were well kept. Staff were warm and attentive, and the food was excellent. We couldn't be more pleased with our stay at Tides Reach.

We came to Taveuni to scuba dive and snorkel in some of the world's best soft coral spots, and the diving exceeded my already high expectations. Tides Reach has a fully equipped dive shop on site, and I had the best dive master I've encountered in more than 30 years of diving. There are no hassles here. The beach is right outside your door, and kayaks and paddleboards are available whenever you want them. The food is delicious, local, and accommodating, right down to the sugar from Fiji. The staff are warm, friendly, and competent, and make you feel very welcome. They really want you to have the best possible experience, and they do.
