The meals were a real highlight. I’m celiac, and gluten-free choices were marked on the menu. Staff always confirmed they were gluten free when they brought the food, and there was plenty for me to choose from. It all tasted great, too. Breakfast came with a proper menu, lots of gluten-free options, and generous portions for a complimentary meal. We’d booked three nights and loved it enough to add two more. The rooms were immaculate, the beds so comfortable, and the pool area and loungers were very well cared for. For our last night, the manager asked if we’d like to move to a beachfront bure. We were surprised and grateful, especially when we found a private plunge pool outside. Every staff member made us feel welcome. I’d been a little skeptical after reading some reviews, so I don’t understand why they weren’t all positive. We had a 10/10 stay and would love to return. Please don’t let those negative reviews put you off! Thank you, Matamanoa, Lily & Liam - UK

The views across the ocean were incredible, with the water showing so many different shades when the sun came out. We had a wonderful, unforgettable Christmas stay. It’s an adults-only resort, and the only one on the island. There were mosquitoes everywhere, both day and night. The island has just one restaurant, with limited choices and average food, and breakfast wasn’t a buffet. The beach also had quite a bit of rubbish. I spent about half an hour picking up what I could see, trying my best. The last photo shows what I mean.

The ocean view is beautiful, and I really liked the beachfront room. But the service was terrible. On checkout day, with two heavy bags, we called reception twice for the pickup shuttle. Nobody came, so we had to walk about five minutes to reception. No staff member explained what happened. The restaurant was another letdown. The food wasn’t good, there were lots of flies around the plates, and service was incredibly slow and lazy.

The snorkeling right out front was amazing, and the scenery was unreal. Staff were lovely and attentive, and the food was great. Truly a magical place to stay, best stay ever. Highly, highly recommend.

Bure #38 was beachfront, with a private plunge pool and stunning views. I think we had the best room on the island. It was huge, too. This is a tiny, remote, beautiful island, and the resort has a boutique feel. We stayed three nights at this adults-only place. There’s just one restaurant and bar. We chose the full-board meal plan. Breakfast and lunch had the same menu choices, and everything we ordered was yummy. Dinner was different each night, though we weren’t really fans of anything we ate over the three evenings. Our bartenders, "Princess" Leah and Naomi, gave very good service. The pool views are amazing, and the grounds are lush and tropical. The downsides were dinner, not having enough ice for drinks, and being unsure whether they really followed the daily activities listed on the board. They run on Fiji time, so settle in and enjoy the views and the company you’re with. I’d stay again in a heartbeat. Vinaka Fiji and Matamanoa
