Maui Palms

We had a wonderful week celebrating our 20th anniversary at Maui Palms. Everyone at the resort was amazing, and Norman looked after us every step of the way. We had a room with a lovely view and kitchen, and the snorkeling was great. Absolutely magical. Thank you, Maui Palms. Vinaka.

The staff are what make this place, especially Norman, who seems to make solving any problem his personal mission while still handling everything else. He’s a rare management talent with a bright future. The cocktails are great, and the snorkeling out front is too. The owner could replace the badly ageing gear for $15 a piece and get more ping pong balls for the Penthouse Suite for about $2. They’re small, simple fixes. The kitchen staff are great, but the menu is atrocious for what you get and what you pay, so we ate almost every meal down the road. The owners need to put some input into the place, or give Norm the authority to sort these things out.

The pools were a real highlight, and the rooms felt special, with lovely design details and good amenities. The grounds are beautiful too, with hammocks and plenty of spots to sit and unwind. Staff were warm, and kayaking and snorkeling were included, which was a great bonus. Food was fairly average for the property, and meal service could be very slow. They suggested ordering dinner in advance, which seemed to help. And the snorkeling was some of the best I’ve ever done. A beautiful place to relax on the Coral Coast.

Maui Palms had the best resort snorkeling I’ve experienced in Fiji, and the activities were great too. It has a lovely feel, with a smaller size that still leaves plenty of space. Staff are lovely and go above and beyond. Room service and delivery anywhere around the grounds are complimentary, which is amazing. The room was elegant, spacious, and clean, the pool was awesome, and the food was excellent, with good gluten-free options. I’ll definitely come back!
