Tropic of Capricorn - Hostel

We chose the room for its nice view, but after a few minutes we saw several cockroaches coming from the ceiling. It was really disgusting, and the bathroom was quite dirty too. The manager arranged a free transfer to the airport and said he’d take care of it, but the experience was still really bad :(

The service was great, especially when they helped arrange my bookings and check-in. I also really enjoyed the ocean-facing room and its sunset views with a sea breeze. The room itself was average for both size and cleanliness.

The staff were really friendly, and the tables and chairs by the beach were a nice spot to relax or eat. I had a top-floor room facing the ocean, with lovely sunset views, though it was quite small. It seemed fine for a budget traveler. There were no towels in the bathroom when I arrived, so I had to ask for some, and the rooms don't have TVs. The pool table in the lobby is very old and falling apart. They also offer inexpensive massages for $20 FJD. I probably wouldn't come back, but I'd recommend it to travelers who want to keep costs down.

The view from our top-floor room was fantastic, and we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. There were ants around, though I suppose some people might consider that normal. The airport pickup we arranged two nights before leaving didn't happen when we arrived in Nadi. After I called again, a different receptionist wasn't aware of it and sent someone to collect us. The staff were friendly, but there was no lift, so luggage has to go up the stairs. I'd eat somewhere nearby instead. Great view, but I wouldn't stay there again.
