Travellers Beach Resort

We checked out, left our bags with staff for the day while we went exploring, then found they’d been rummaged through when we came back. Our passports and camera were gone, including all the pictures from our trip. We had to fly home on emergency passports. At first, staff were apologetic and said they wanted to help, and after police got involved they assured us it would be looked into. We stayed in contact after getting home, but then their tone completely changed and they accused us of staging an insurance scam. I believe thieves operate here with help from the owners or staff. Watch your belongings. Terrible experience, nasty people preying on tourists. Never stay here.

It was cheap and basic, but unpleasant enough to spoil a trip. An Indian staff member suddenly punched a guest in the face while they were lying on a sunbed relaxing. The owners didn’t punish their teenager. Police got involved, but money talks. The guest had a black eye, and I bet they won’t be back!

We had a really nice room across the street on the second level, and the food was impeccable. The beach was lovely, and the sunset was gorgeous. Great staff too. I would’ve stayed much longer if I’d had the time. Great place for a short or long stay, no worries.

All the Bamboo hostels on this street belong to the same company. The staff were friendly and helpful, but I can’t understand the high rating. I’d only recommend staying here for your final night if you need to be near the airport. The photos look better than the place itself. The beach isn’t nice, the pool is about the size of a big hot tub, and the shared showers and toilets aren’t very clean. If you book a private room without a toilet, you have to go through the dorm on your floor to use the toilet or shower. There’s just one shower for women and one for men, shared with a dorm of 16 people. At night, you have to walk through a room full of sleeping people to use the toilet. It’s not good at all. The owner should invest more in the shared facilities, because they’re a joke. Surfers, forget this place as a base for boat trips ($170). Search for Momi eco beach instead. Bring cash, since all food has to be paid for in cash. There’s an ATM, but it charges an extra $10 fee. The hostel is far from Nadi and everything else, with nowhere nearby to walk to. We ordered a simple meal, waited 1h, and it came cold and wasn’t even nice. Internet cuts out constantly too. It is close to the airport, which is useful for an early flight.
