Nadi Bay Resort

The pool and surrounding area were dirty and poorly looked after, and the bathroom had no proper door for the bath or shower, so water kept spreading onto the floor and leaving it unsafe and wet. I was especially concerned by exposed, hanging wires for the TV and freezer. Management knew at booking that children would be staying, but nothing had been done to secure them. The resort fell short on basic safety, cleanliness, and maintenance. A very disappointing stay at Grand Melanesian Resort, Nadi.

The best parts were the pool and the good food along the main road. We stayed in one of the cheapest rooms and the experience was just okay. Breakfast was only toast with peanut butter and jam. The place was so quiet that two bars and one restaurant were no longer operating, and it feels like it was much nicer about 15 years ago. Most of the photos here aren't from this place. The worst part was trying to get a regular taxi: staff twice arranged a transfer shuttle instead, with no meter and double the price. Ridiculous.

The pool was clean and pleasant, and both the room's AC and fan came in handy. Food and drinks were reasonably priced. We only needed somewhere for a few hours before a flight, so we booked here without staying overnight. It's not the fanciest place in Fiji, but for a quick stop in Nadi it offers solid value.
