Ramada Suites by Wyndham Wailoaloa Beach Fiji Hotel

I booked this hotel for my family in Fiji, and they had a terrible stay. They reserved four single beds but got only three. The pool smelled bad, staff were rude, and when we called the manager, they lied about who the manager was. The family weren't given towels or anything. What you see in the booking pictures doesn't match the reality, and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

My family stayed here and it was nothing like the listing, so read the reviews carefully. It isn't near the beach, though you can walk down the main road for about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the resorts. The rooms lacked things advertised or promised at booking, and this felt more like a self-catering stay than a resort. The rooms and parts of the building need proper refurbishment. The staircases are weak and worn, and felt hazardous, especially when carrying luggage upstairs. Planes fly overhead too, so it's very noisy. The restaurant was closed for all five nights of our stay. For food, we were told to walk 10 to 15 minutes to restaurants near the other resorts and Airbnbs. They might offer to order food in, but that took more than an hour and a half. Our room was meant to have a cooking facility, but there wasn't one. Reception said a small cooking unit should be there and that we'd be given one, but none arrived during our stay. The listing on Agoda and online didn't say the restaurant and bar would be unavailable. I only found out on the way to check-in after asking about food, then again at check-in and each day, with responses like "sorry, no, the restaurant or bar isn't available" or "the chef has left early." There were guests staying there, and it was presented as a resort rather than a self-contained apartment. Service was very slow, with little real customer care. Our room wasn't replenished daily with basic toiletries or cleaning. The kitchen taps and bathroom shower stopped working on multiple occasions because of maintenance issues. After we reported it, they were somehow switched back on and worked again. Questions and requests took a long time, and staff passed us around because they didn't know the answer or gave different answers. Communication and service also varied depending on who we spoke to. They tried to charge more than quoted for a late check-out, apparently because of miscommunication. They did have breakfast, but that was the only thing available. The rooms and parts of the building are outdated, and with non-refundable payment, it's frustrating that the actual service and accommodation didn't match what we were told or shown. It wasn't what we expected and didn't feel worth the money unless things improve. There are nice resorts, a B&B and Airbnbs near the beach that could offer better value and experience. One night might be manageable, but in its current state I wouldn't stay longer.

I only needed a layover before an early flight the next day, but they put me in what seemed to be a cleaned-up staff quarters. There was noise from staff and music, so I wasn't impressed. The location is nice for the perigee, but be careful about which room they give you.

This was the worst hotel experience I've had. The place isn't a beach resort, and it's a 10-minute walk to the actual resorts. Breakfast was missing coffee every day, as well as ketchup and other condiments. Don't count on the wifi. The rooms were filthy, worse than a squatter's house. We stayed 10 days and got our room cleaned only once, despite asking three times a day. Some workers were very nice, but others didn't seem to care about responding helpfully. Zero stars.
