Trans International Hotel

The staff were good, but I had a really bad stay. Rain got into my room badly, and even though the TV and AC remotes were in poor condition and seriously broken, I had to get out of bed each time I wanted to adjust the temperature because the AC remote wouldn’t reach me from the bed. They didn’t provide basic things like wifi, Colgate, or water, and there was no food service or anything to see nearby. I’d advise going to Denarau Island instead. It’s beautiful, with a number of good hotels, a shopping centre, a port, and lots of restaurants, especially Indian ones. Another option is to book near Wailoaloa Beach, such as Crown plaza, where you can get sea views.

We had a three bed room that was spacious and clean, and the security man carried all three of our super heavy bags up the stairs. I was scared after reading the reviews on the day we checked in, since we’d booked without looking at them. After checking out, I can say it wasn’t nearly as bad as they made it sound. For the price, I don’t think there’s much to complain about.

This place looks nothing like the pictures. The sheets and towels were so filthy that I slept in my clothes and drip-dried after showering, with my thongs on. It cost $100 per night and shouldn’t have. There’s no food or drink available on site, and the pool bar closed years ago, along with everything else. It was obviously a nice hotel once, but someone’s let it go to rack and ruin. Stay next door at the Fiji Gateway. At least there weren’t any bed bugs, lol.

For a transfer hotel near the airport, the rooms did what we needed, and they were very spacious for two people. There’s a pool, though we didn’t use it. The air conditioning was good, and the shower pressure was great. The reception staff could seem snobby unless you were outgoing and bantered with them. The hotel and amenities are very outdated and need upgrades. Our door lock was broken, and the showers and toilets weren’t properly cleaned. There was no wifi in our room, no food service despite it being listed in the booking option, and cleanliness was poor. I wouldn’t recommend it for solo travellers. It’s directly across from Nadi airport.
