Airport Ace Hotel

I booked two nights and was first put in room 2 on the second floor. It felt very isolated, and there was no phone in the room, so I asked the receptionist to move me. She agreed and said someone would come for my luggage, but after waiting 15 minutes, nobody came. I had to drag it myself, even though I told them I couldn’t carry it because I’d had surgery on my right shoulder. I eventually got a downstairs room, but there was a bad smell from the toilet. They put in air freshener, but the smell stayed. Around 10 pm I saw a big roach on the ceiling. With no phone in the room, I had to go to reception to ask someone to remove it. I was scared there might be more and couldn’t sleep. I don’t remember when I finally fell asleep, then woke up feeling very hot at 3:30 am because the AC remote wasn’t working. I had to go back to reception in my nightclothes and ask someone to look at it. The TV didn’t work either. I have the picture. What was the point of paying for a hotel? I could have stayed with family without AC and roaches. I don’t recommend this place. Nobody came to speak to me or apologize.

The staff are friendly, and the rooms are decent for what you get. I had early meetings, but the kitchen hadn’t opened yet, so I couldn’t get breakfast. It’s in a residential area, with few places to eat nearby and transport can be hard to find. It takes about a 10-minute walk to reach the main airport highway and find a taxi, or the staff can book one for you.

We fit all five of us in the big room, which makes it a good choice for families. The service was good too, and the location is handy for both the airport and town. I’d recommend it.

We were there for almost 11 days and came away disappointed with the reception, housekeeping, and management. We booked through booking.com, but they said the app hadn’t charged us and asked if we could pay by card. They then added 4% to the amount. The restaurant was really good, with top-quality food and drinks at reasonable prices. The location was also very good, since it’s close to the airport. Housekeeping was very basic: they never swept or mopped the floors or cleaned the bathroom. When we asked, all they did was change the bedroom sheets.
