Club Fiji Resort

We enjoyed the decent food, even though it was a little pricey, and nearly everyone was welcoming and friendly. Janet, Iliesa and Illy were fantastic, and we'll miss them. Most of the staff were accommodating, and we formed friendships during the holiday that made it a very enjoyable time. We'll definitely return. The disappointing start was on our first day. The room safe had been left closed, though it was supposed to be left open at checkout. We left our money in the room while we went for a quick swim at the beach, and some was taken from our wallets while housekeeping and maintenance were in the room. We reported it to reception and management, but felt they brushed it under the rug. We didn't get the money back.

The gardens were beautifully kept, the staff were friendly, the nightly entertainment was nice and breakfast was adequate. We were also happy with the way the manager handled the problems, which made it seem like they're working to raise the resort's standard. Our Garden room wasn't clean, so the manager kindly offered to move us, but only Garden rooms were available, not bungalows. We decided to check out and book elsewhere. The manager apologized again and arranged a free transfer to our new accommodation. We'd also had a clothing item go missing after room service. We gave the benefit of the doubt and thought it might've been wrapped in the bed sheets, but when we checked, it wasn't there. The manager looked again and it somehow turned up, and apologized. Maybe book a bungalow if you stay here, since the reviews I've read from people who stayed in those have been good. Try Saffron Restaurant too. It's a short taxi ride away, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced.

I love this place. It's peaceful and relaxing, with those wonderful bird sounds that make you feel like you're in the jungle. Downtown isn't too far away, but here it feels like paradise. Skip the big hotels and come here!

Our bure had a few issues, so we moved to a room in the newer building. That gave us two very different stays, and both were great. We had a lovely two nights at Club Fiji. Janet in the restaurant is a real asset, so friendly and helpful. Letu (I think that's her name) at reception was the same, and the barmen were wonderful too. Thanks for a great stay.
