I’d look elsewhere for $1500. There was rotten fruit left in the closet, and three window sections were missing, so the air conditioning was blowing straight out of our bedroom. I asked every day for a mattress protector, but it took nearly two weeks to get one, even though on the first day I was told it would arrive the next day. The sheets under the bed were dirty too. While we were in Suva, the owner or manager came into our room without telling us, along with three or four other people, and started rebuilding the cabinets, leaving a mess behind. It took him three months to return our bond. One of my worst stays in Fiji.

A bus stop is about a five-minute walk away, but there aren’t any shops nearby apart from an Mc D that was being set up, so you’ll need to go to Nadi town or jet point for basics. Having a rental car would be handy. Most bedrooms are upstairs, so check that works for you if you’re travelling with kids or older people. This is a reasonably priced, self-contained apartment with the basics, rather than a fancy place with perfect fittings. It has a gas stove, washing machine, toaster, oven, fridge, TV, sofa, car port and kitchen utensils. The living room, bedrooms and cupboards were good, though the washroom needs some maintenance. There’s no reception or help desk, so you call the friendly owner if you need anything. Standard check-in is at 13:00, but he let me check in early because my flight arrived at 6am.

We stayed for a week and a half, and the spacious place worked especially well for a family. The service was great, too. They were quick to respond and went out of their way to accommodate us. Thanks so much to Altaf and team for everything. We’d definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

I cancelled five months before the stay, well within the stated free-cancellation period of up to one week before arrival, but I still haven’t received the money back. I’d been charged a full day’s stay on my credit card even though the policy said “pay at hotel.” I contacted manager Altaf several times, and Expedia did too, but we just got the runaround. Be careful, you may not get your money back.
