Nadi Fancy Hotel

There were four live lizards in the room, and I felt extremely unsafe and uncomfortable. When I told the staff, they were dismissive and said, “We can’t do anything about it.” I was so overwhelmed that I ended up in tears, but nobody tried to solve the problem, move me, or offer support. The bathroom was dirty, badly maintained, and far too unhygienic. The room’s condition was unacceptable. This was one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve had, and I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for families or people traveling alone. Management needs to take responsibility for cleanliness, maintenance, and staff responsiveness, or guests will keep being disappointed.

The bathroom was clean, and the room had two large beds, effective air conditioning, and complimentary water bottles each day. Still, I wouldn’t recommend booking at Nadi Fancy Hotel. The location is under a flight path, with loud aircraft overhead, and nearby amenities are far enough away that you need a taxi. My first room was very dirty, with dusty, stained sheets and grimy curtains. The electronic lock also failed because its batteries were dead. Staff weren’t especially friendly, and they were initially reluctant to change my room. Although they promised to fix the lock promptly, it took hours. The replacement room was only marginally cleaner. It might do for one night, but for the price there are probably better options.

We had our own vehicle, so I can’t say much about their pickup service. We found the price reasonable and the staff helpful with our needs. The reception area was great for hanging out and eating, and the swimming pool was clean. We had breakfast for only $15 FJ and didn’t have any trouble with bed bugs. Aircraft overhead can be very loud, though that’s outside the hotel’s control. There’s a lot that could be improved. The hotel is also called Nadi Fancy Hotel, and is a two-storey building with no lift. It isn’t very accessible for guests with disabilities or difficulty walking, because some paths have stepping-stone blocks. An extra roll of toilet paper would help. The hot shower temperature takes some fiddling to adjust, there are hardly any shops nearby, and the road needs repair, which reflects poorly on the hotel. We felt it could become a great place with more work.

The rooms are tiny and dirty, with cockroaches. Bathroom was grimy too, the water pressure was awful, and my tap was nearly broken. Hot water only came sometimes since it’s solar powered.
