Jack was happy to meet me and show me around, even though I arrived without calling ahead as the booking sheet asked. There was more than one room available, so I got to choose. Mine was spacious, with storage under the bed or in a closet if you bring your own padlock, plus a fan and mosquito net. WiFi was included and supposedly unlimited, though Jack asks guests not to stream or download. Fair enough. I haven’t stayed in many homestays, but this one seemed straightforward. It’s a family house in the suburbs, so don’t expect luxury views or turn-down service. By Western standards the house may not be up to code. There was mould on the ceiling, a dirty cooktop, and an unclean toilet. If those things bother you, you may want to stay somewhere else. Still, given Jack’s hospitality and the price, I thought it did alright.

A nice place where you can have privacy with your family. It’s only about five minutes from uprising and arts village, and there are fun things to do nearby, like picnics and other tours. I’d recommend booking it for a vacation.
