The staff are super helpful, especially the manager. She makes sure to go a step further to sort out your problems. Just ask to change rooms if you get room no 400.

The difference between my two stays at Townhouse Apartment Hotel was striking. The first time, I had a Deluxe room with a stunning view of Suva. The air conditioning was a bit strong, the bedding was okay but there weren’t enough blankets, and the TV channel selection left something to be desired. I was there with my girlfriend and a couple of her friends. The food was passable, though the portions were on the small side, and we’d call the stay average. Then in February, my girlfriend and I booked a Standard room. It was in poor condition, with an uncomfortable bed, no blankets, and visible stains. The room was infested with rats and cockroaches, which made it unhygienic and unsettling, and the kitchen utensils were unclean too. When we raised the vermin problem with staff, including the fact that rats had eaten our food, their response was inadequate. The hotel has a central location and some rooms have stunning views, but the drop in quality and service from the Deluxe to the Standard room was concerning, especially for the price. The second stay was deeply disappointing and unacceptable after a tolerable first one. Travelers should think carefully about room type and possible cleanliness issues before booking, particularly at higher prices.

The room smelled awful, as if it hadn’t been mopped with detergent, and the online pictures looked very different from the actual apartment. They seemed to be just for show. The fan in one room didn’t work even on setting five, and the toilet pan was literally yellow and so dirty. The reception staff were rude, including their so-called boss, who had a big mouth. After seeing the room and paying so much, we asked to move to another one. They were heartless and told us to take all our luggage out because they wanted to seal the room. It was 5.30pm, we’d come all the way from Lautoka, and this was our only accommodation, yet they asked us to leave. Pathetic rooms and customer service. I do not recommend this apartment. 0/5.

The night front desk staff were super friendly and interactive, and the rooms were okay for the price. Breakfast, though, was a disaster on Father’s Day morning, and nothing like what we expected. The Indo Fijian woman in the kitchen seemed grumpy when she brought us milk tea. We asked for red tea because we were lactose intolerant, and she gave us an unpleasant look. When our friends came down, she was pretty rude asking if they wanted milk in their drinks. The scrambled eggs were cold, rubbery, and not really scrambled. My toast was okay, but my friend’s was burnt. The fruit selection had just a quarter of an apple, and the cutlery needs upgrading. The knives were crooked and very hard to use.

The bathroom and toilet pan were filthy, and the bedroom door had no lock and was falling apart. We stayed in a ground-floor apartment in the upper hotel with a kitchen, but the place was dirty. Parking was very hard to find. The cleaners often didn't come, and when they did, they didn't clean properly. A watch was also stolen from our room by cleaning staff. Stay at your own risk.
