The rooms were spacious and warm, breakfast was good, and the price made sense for an overnight stop. What brought my rating down was the reception. The man there was abrupt and rude to my husband and me from the start, even though we were both polite. At first I wondered if he was just having a bad day, but then a French family arrived and he was friendly with them, and gave them their room key before ours. We’ve been visiting France for about 15 years and have never been treated like that before. 😞

We had two rooms for our family, and the sofa downstairs had already been opened up as another comfortable bed for us and the kids. Having plates, cutlery, glasses, and microwaves was really useful, and the big parking lot beside the highway made this an easy stop on the way back from the Alps. We had everything we needed. I was a little unsure after reading the recent reviews, but I’d happily recommend the place. The carpets had a few stains, though everything else was very clean, the beds were large and comfortable, and it was quiet. Late-night check-in went smoothly. When I called several times afterward with questions about an item we’d lost, the staff were very helpful. Thanks for having us!

The room smelled strongly of cigarettes when we got back at 10pm, despite having booked a non-smoking room. It had only been given a quick clean. The bedspread was torn, the mattresses and pillows were stained and frankly unfit for animals, and the handheld shower sprayed in every direction. There was also a dog barking loudly in the apartment next door and brown marks on the foyer walls. We arrived at 6:30pm after an eight-hour drive with our young family, but the room wasn’t cleaned or ready, so we had to leave again. We’d booked to arrive between 6 and 7, and had received an email at 3:30 saying the apartment was ready. We were fortunate to have dinner in Dijon’s beautiful medieval center while we waited. A terrible night, and absolutely not worth the €120 we paid. This place should be shut down!

The sofa bed was stained, hadn’t been made up, and turned out to be broken. There were brown liquid splashes on several walls, the bedding and towels didn’t seem clean, and the toilet hadn’t been flushed. After a restless night with noise from the other apartments, we were glad to leave. We were checked out by 7:15. We got there around 6:30pm after a long journey, only to find the room hadn’t been cleaned. We went into Dijon, which is well worth a visit, but the room still didn’t look clean when we returned. As a family, I can’t recommend staying here. One night was more than enough.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and after a long drive it was a relief to find clean sheets and towels waiting for the morning. We had a nice meal and a couple of beers at the restaurant just around the corner. There’s also a very good pizza place about a three-minute walk away. The apartment was dated and had a few carpet stains, but it’s conveniently located on the outskirts of Dijon. We paid around £150 for the night, which is cheap for the area, so we weren’t expecting anything fancy. I’d stay again for one night, but wouldn’t choose it for a longer visit. It works fine as a budget stopover.
