We ordered breakfast and a snack board, and both were delightful and very generous. We could eat in the garden or out on the deck over the pond. There were birds chirping all day, but it stayed quiet at night. The owner was super friendly and helpful, and the facilities were comfortable. I rarely like both the bed and the couch, but I did here. Good shower, and there's a dishwasher too. The property is privately owned, with just four houses spaced well apart, so it's green, picturesque, and very quiet. The city centre is only a five-minute drive away, and the city itself is beautiful. A wonderful spot to leave the city buzz behind and unwind in nature.

The village is really quiet, so we explored by car and bike. We were following the Tour de france, and this made a great base for it. St Omer and La Couple were lovely places to visit. We spent a few nice days at Hellebore lodge, surrounded by nature, with a lovely big comfortable bed, nice furnishings, and all the mod cons we needed. The host was friendly and the place very peaceful. The one thing we'd fault was the small TV, with no English channels or DVD player. The WiFi didn't work at all, so we used loads of phone data trying to watch Love Island on our phone 😂.

Marie is warm and friendly, and quick to respond to emails. Her accommodation is laid out so thoughtfully and works really well. As soon as I stepped inside, the inviting design and all the careful thought behind it were clear. I love this place. There's something special about it that I can't quite put my finger on. I wish I could come back, and I know I will.

It's a good stop on the way to or from the UK, with Calais only a short drive away. Restaurants and bars are an easy walk away, although the city centre isn't. The price is reasonable, and the kids can run around without bothering anyone.
