Le Vélo Vert

We loved the fresh bread, juices, jams and probably the strongest, best coffee we had in France. There are lovely villages, towns and vineyards nearby, and the owner is always glad to suggest places. We even picked up cheese, cold meats and bread for picnic lunches back at the house. There are plenty of outdoor places to sit, plus a fridge and small kitchen for guests. We booked two nights because we wanted an authentic French experience, and the online photos and reviews drew us in. From the moment we arrived, the owner and his mother made us feel like old friends. They're delightful company, and the pretty house has a homely feel. We had the bamboo room, with a lovely view of the garden and pool. It is someone's home, so don't expect electronically controlled air-conditioning or CNN on the room TVs. It's a place to relax with your hosts and explore the area. The house backs onto the cycle path, which is ideal if you have bikes. We enjoyed it so much that we added another night. It was our favourite place during our 10 day visit to France, and the hosts were very accommodating. I can't recommend it highly enough, and we'd love to come back. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!

If you come to France and skip Le Velo Vert, you've wasted your time. It felt like staying with family.

We had a wonderful time and could leave our car somewhere safe. If you're passing through Sadirac by car or bike, don't miss Gîte Le Vélo Vert. Francis and Sylvaine are lovely, and the meals and breakfasts are hearty and delicious. I highly recommend it.

Francis and his mother gave us such a warm welcome that we felt at home straight away. The home-cooked meals were delicious, and the rooms spacious and comfortable. It's a superb, peaceful spot right by the bike path. Thanks again, we'd love to return!
