Best Western Hotel le Galice Aix-en-Provence

Breakfast was great, and the room was clean and good quality. The staff were friendly. Special thanks to Agnieszka at reception for making me feel comfortable and looked after, and thanks to Olga too.

We were very happy with the hotel. Mario, the bartender, was friendly and suggested some really good cocktails tailored to the flavors we wanted, even though they weren’t on the menu.

The fresh, delicious breakfast was amazing, and I’m grateful to Aga and Olga and the kitchen staff for all their hard work. I had a memorable stay at Hotel Le Galice with my tour group from May 15-18, 2025. The hotel was great and centrally located, and Agnieszka (Aga) and Olga gave me outstanding, friendly service throughout. I travel a lot and usually try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but this stay was one problem after another. I’d strongly recommend avoiding this hotel, especially if you’re a woman traveling alone. There are better, safer, more respectful options elsewhere. The area felt unsafe to me: late at night I saw groups of men hanging around the entrance, and locals warned me that muggings and pickpocketing were common in the neighborhood. I didn’t feel safe walking alone or able to relax and enjoy the trip with peace of mind. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt off. A musty, unpleasant smell lingered in the hallway near the lobby every time I passed, making me question the hotel’s cleanliness and ventilation. The bathroom smelled of sewage throughout my stay, even after I aired out the room, and the old furnishings were poorly maintained. Front desk staff were unwelcoming and sometimes rude. When I asked basic questions about breakfast hours or luggage storage, I got short, unfriendly replies. One staff member also made a subtle comment that felt racially charged, and it left me uncomfortable. That kind of attitude is unacceptable in hospitality. Breakfast was included in my booking, but they insisted it wasn’t and charged me extra. Even after I showed my confirmation email, they refused to fix it and told me to take it up with the booking website, with no effort to help. They also charged us city tax for more people than were actually staying and refused to adjust it when we pointed it out. It felt dishonest and completely unprofessional.
