Novotel Aix-En-Provence Pont-De-L'Arc Fenouilleres

We liked the location, about a five-minute drive or a quick bus ride to the centre. The rooms were nice and fairly modern, most staff were friendly, and the pool area was just the right size. The thing that let the hotel down for us was having no food available outside restaurant hours. After an 8-hour journey, we arrived at 3pm and couldn’t get even a sandwich or anything else until the restaurant opened at 7pm. For a hotel that calls itself 4-star, there should really be some food available all day. With no shops nearby, we had to drive out to find something to eat.

We had a great stay and felt welcome, with a chance to recharge. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the property was well located with great amenities. The pool was great, though it could get busy at times. The only thing missing was a well-equipped gym.

The room was comfortable and the accommodation itself was lovely, but we were disappointed by the restaurant staff. We were staying with our 18-month-old and brought back lunch after being out. The day before, we’d eaten in the restaurant and were told we couldn’t be served in that same area, so we assumed the garden was a shared space. We sat there to feed our baby. Partway through, a staff member told us we weren’t allowed to eat there, and that our only options were to feed our child in our room or order from the kids’ menu in the restaurant. The way it was said felt unnecessarily rude and confrontational, especially with the challenges of feeding a toddler. For a hotel that promotes itself as family-friendly, it was disheartening to find no welcoming common space for feeding young children. The strict policy around where we could eat and the staff’s attitude made our stay less enjoyable than it could have been.

The staff were helpful, and the rooms were clean and good value. It was a short stay at the Novotel. The hotel was easy to find, with lots of parking, which was handy for us since we had a car.
