Odalys Aix en Provence Centre Palais des Congrès

We had a lovely stay, with a very welcoming receptionist and good value for a three-star hotel. It’s dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us. Our room was modern, spacious, and clean, with a large bathroom and a well-equipped kitchenette, though we didn’t use it. The location is ideal, just a minute’s walk from the centre ville, close to everything without having crowds right outside the door. We’d definitely stay again.

The staff were especially helpful. When I arrived, I’d left my mobile in the taxi, and Amine and Hugo did a lot to reach the driver and get it brought back. You couldn’t ask for better staff, and I totally recommend this place. If I return to Aix-en-Provence, I’ll definitely stay here again. It’s close to the centre, with a bar across from the hotel and a store just up the road. I skipped the hotel restaurant area because I wanted to try local cafes, though it looked great. My double room had a microwave, a small kitchen with plates and pans, a roomy bathroom, and a separate toilet.

The nights were pleasantly quiet, and the staff were very nice and helpful. But this hotel isn’t good if you want to sleep in: renovations are underway, with noise starting at 8:30am loud enough to deafen you. When something needed fixing, it took too long to sort out. I waited nearly two days for the curtains and a headlight to be repaired. My first room was dirty and the bed hadn’t been made properly, so I was moved to a clean but smaller room with faulty curtains and a headlight. It seems the staff have to call an outside technician when problems come up, which may explain the delays. A bathroom hook also fell off and was never replaced. There’s room for improvement, and for the price, this wasn’t good value.

It was peaceful and pleasant at the edge of the Old Town, and the location worked perfectly for us. Everything was clean and nice. Vihash at reception was cheerful, kind, and glad to help.
