Villa Saint Ange

We could walk around Aix en Provence from the hotel, including to the gravesite of Paul Cézanne, and the weekend market, restaurants, and shops were all lovely. We even fit in a massage. Still, the hotel itself was the real highlight: peaceful and tucked into the Provence countryside, it gave us a chance to switch off and recharge for our 30th anniversary. The historic feel carries through the rooms and art, and the food was wonderful, right down to the Madeleines with coffee. Quinten looked after our car and bags, and Emma showed us around when we checked in and took us to our suite. We were so grateful for the warm welcome and for such a restful escape.

The pool and jacuzzi were a lovely place to unwind, and we felt well looked after by the staff throughout our honeymoon. We had a Junior Suite and ate at the gastronomy restaurant. The service was excellent, and the meal was one of the best of our whole trip. Villa Saint-Ange made a wonderful base for seeing Aix and Provence. The property is elegant and historic, beautifully kept, with modern amenities. It felt like stepping back in time. Magnificent stay from beginning to end.

The pool was a relaxing spot, but the beds filled up quickly. They had thoughtful extras like hats, towels, sandals, and a beach bag. Staff around the hotel were warm and friendly, though pool service was only average. We enjoyed the food, and the restaurant and outdoor area by the waterfall are beautiful. The restaurant staff felt a little cold and pretentious at breakfast and dinner, though. Our main courses arrived before the appetizer, which seemed unusual for a five-star hotel. The grounds and hotel are lovely, and the location is convenient for Aix. I'd recommend it, but be ready to spend.

I’ve only just gotten to my room and already wanted to leave a review. The check-in was exceptional, and that first impression has me expecting a top-notch stay.
