Le Logis de la Cathédrale

The stairs up to apartment 3 on the third floor are narrow, and there's no lift, so getting luggage up is a hassle. Once there, the room is spacious enough, though the bathroom is small. The location near the cathedral is excellent. It was adequate for my stay.

The view was the one thing I liked. I wouldn't recommend booking at Logis de la Cathédrale. The attic room felt cramped, especially if you're over 1.80 meters tall. Reaching it meant climbing four floors on a very narrow, dirty staircase, and getting the key was an odd process: no one answered the bell, there were no signs, and nobody was there when we pushed the door open. We eventually found an envelope with instructions and got the key. At first we even had to ask people around the square whether we had the right address. The breakfast was just two tea bags, instant coffee, and three madeleines, despite supposedly being included. As someone who loves bed and breakfasts, I was disappointed not to meet the hosts or have fresh bread and a friendly breakfast atmosphere. We'd been excited by the website photos, but the room didn't live up to them. The renovations looked outrageous, and if a company did them, they should change careers.

Such a letdown. The place was dirty, the bath towels had stains, and the floor hadn't been washed. There was no protective cover on the bedding either, so there didn't seem to be any Covid precautions. I really don't recommend it.

Inside, the frescoes are fantastic and the whole place is a real gem. It's enormous and made entirely of brick, which makes it so different from other cathedrals. Truly breathtaking 😍😍👌
