Best Western Le Vinci Loire Valley

Joseph was a real help when my two friends and I arrived tired after cycling. There was a concern about the booking, but he reassured us and sorted it out smoothly. He was warm and welcoming, and helped carry our luggage upstairs. I'd recommend this place again because of Joseph's exceptional hospitality.

The rooms were clean. By car, you're super close to the city center, but without one, expect a 20 minute walk. Joseph also deserves thanks for handling our taxi troubles. His help was precise and reliable.

The hotel is a long way from the center. Also, be careful if you book by phone: they took my credit card details and charged me, then asked me to pay again when I checked in or out. Luckily, I had a neo-bank debit card and could show the charge had already gone through. The woman at reception still argued with me. It felt almost like a scam.

The room was fine, the shower was good, and breakfast included full-size croissants. The bathroom layout was a little odd, and the bike storage was okay but wasn't locked. We cycled here, and it's at the top of a hill, so we decided not to ride back into town for dinner. Walking into town takes at least 20 minutes, possibly more. I think a hotel this far out needs something special to earn five stars. I'd recommend it only if it's quite a bit cheaper than places in town and that's what you're after. The lobby also had some slightly strange bags for sale.
