The staff were very kind, and the hotel itself is spacious, nicely located, and has pleasant rooms. Breakfast was the letdown. There wasn't much choice, and although the staff were nice, we waited quite a while for scrambled eggs. At that price I expected more, so I wouldn't pay for breakfast again.

From our room, the view across Amboise was magnificent, and the staff were friendly with good service. The hotel also has tennis and mini-golf. You can drive into the old town and park for free, or walk there. We tried each way and preferred walking, since the route passes old houses farther from the center that you'd otherwise miss.

The staff were extremely welcoming, the restaurant was decent, and the location, layout, and outdoor space give the hotel real potential. But the place badly needs renovation. We were on floor -1, where the rooms and whole floor felt damp and smelled damp. The carpets were old, dirty, and damp, the curtains were broken, and there was no shower, just a very high bathtub with a broken shower curtain. Mini-golf was a nice extra, though it needs updating too. Fine for one night, but I wouldn't stay longer.

Friendly staff and good service, and it's about a 25-minute walk to where you want to go. It's a busy hotel with lots of families, so it may not suit you if you're after somewhere quiet. Breakfast has a full selection of hot and cold food, though nothing especially memorable.

The room felt roomy, and I especially liked the small entrance corridor, which kept noise from the main corridor down. Food was very good and reasonably priced, and the staff were helpful. The lovely town is too far to walk, but there are plenty of ways to get there. I'd highly recommend this hotel.
