Getting the deposit back took six weeks, and it only happened after both the booking company and the credit card company contacted the campsite. The grounds were crowded and poorly managed, with rubbish all over. Late at night, groups of noisy young people wandered around because there was nothing else to do. Maintenance was bad, reception support was grumpy and spoke poor English, and the owner seemed moody. The apartment and its surroundings were in pretty poor shape too. My first and last time here.

A lot of things in the caravan were broken or missing, and given what we paid, I was really disappointed. The pool areas, indoors and outdoors, were absolute chaos. We paid £15 for a damage waiver, then found out they also wanted a €450 deposit, which was only mentioned after booking. They say English is spoken, but that wasn't our experience, and we had to use translation for much of the stay. The staff we met were very rude. This was my first Eurocamp trip, and probably my last.

The pool was a decent size, with a baby pool and two slides. Without that, this site would have scored zero from us. The lifeguard only arrived on July 6th, and then tried to stop us going in because we had a baby in a buggy and the boys were wearing shorts. Before that, we could come and go without a problem. There was no restaurant, shop, or entertainment open, and the kids' club was for French-speaking children aged six and up. The bar only opened from 6 to 10 pm. We stayed for 12 days and were hugely disappointed. We've been to eight campsites, and this was easily the worst. Before we arrived, we were told we could add linen, towels, and baby equipment, but the booking system wouldn't let me. I contacted them three times and was told there was no linen or towels on site, so we'd have to bring or buy our own. They also said there was no baby equipment. After complaints and arguments, I got a travel cot, but it cost an extra €22 per week. The €450 security deposit was also far more than expected. Getting in and out was a problem for the first few days because they said the cameras couldn't read our Irish registration plate. My parents had an Irish plate too and had no trouble. The website said high season was July and August, so arriving June 29th, we thought we'd have only two days before it began. Instead, they said it didn't start until July 6th. For the price, the site's quality just doesn't add up. I wouldn't go back or recommend it.

The staff were consistently pleasant and very helpful, especially when we lost a set of keys. The site has a large playground, BBQ area and boules court, but isn't so big that you have to walk ages. The recycling and laundry facilities were decent too. There are nice bakeries in Angles, with beaches, canoeing and places to visit nearby. We knew about the €400 deposit, though it felt very steep, and it seemed to cause delays and frustration at check-in. We waited an hour and 45 minutes for the keys and paperwork. Then we found there were no bed sheets in the mobile home, and nobody had told us the site didn't provide them, so we had to buy a set the next day. The home itself was pretty nice, though it was roasting when we visited in August 2022. Despite the heat, the pool was too cold for two of our three kids, so it wasn't much use for cooling off. There were power cuts on two nights, leaving the home without electricity and the slides out of action. I wasn't bothered by how close together the accommodation was or by noise from crows. We heard a few wood pigeons cooing in the morning instead.

We went in early June, when the site was pleasantly quiet and fairly empty. The caravans are close together, though, and I wouldn't want to be there in July or August. I think that many people in such a small space would make it noisy.
