We had a lovely, memorable stay in a beautiful traditional room overlooking the garden. Madame Claude’s house is gorgeous, and the garden is lovingly kept. We were there in May when the roses were in full bloom, and it made an idyllic place for breakfast each morning. Madame Claude is very welcoming and enjoys chatting over coffee, which is part of the charm.

Claude is a delightful owner, kind and attentive, and always happy to chat over coffee in her small, charming garden. The house is historic and sits in the old part of town, with comfortable rooms despite its age and decor that feels entirely its own. Highly recommended for a short stay in Angoulême.

I keep coming back, and the place never gets old. The house is quiet and relaxing, and the welcome is always warm. It’s right in the heart of the historic city centre, a lovely base for a few days in Angoulême. Breakfast is generous and served in front of the fireplace, a perfect start to the day.
