The room was clean, but there was barely enough space to move around the bed. The bathroom was so cramped that, at 6ft4, I had to dry myself outside it. I’d booked a double room with a private bathroom and breakfast for €9.50 per person. The breakfast was a very minimal buffet and nowhere near worth that price. I’d get breakfast on a waterside cafe terrace in La Rochelle instead.

For the price, the breakfast was quite nice too. This is a very budget-friendly option, and on my trip back home, a clean, quiet room to sleep in and a shower worked wonders. My rating takes the price-to-quality ratio and other aspects into account.

A good place to stop overnight on a long journey. The bunks were clean and comfy, with communal showers and toilets.

We were only there for one night, so we made do, and it’s cheap and not far from town. But be ready for a smoky room and dirty covers. The bed cover was disgusting, covered in burn holes and stains, which isn’t acceptable even for a budget hotel. Luckily, we had our own bedding and used that instead. The room smelled strongly of cigarettes. The online listing didn’t say whether rooms were smoking or non-smoking, and the receptionist hadn’t asked. We requested another room but were told there weren’t any available. We’d booked online and had a confirmation email, yet when we arrived they had no booking for us, even with the email.

This was our second stay. The room, WC, shower, kitchen and reception were all very clean. Hania was friendly and really helpful, an asset to the company.
