Moxy Annecy

I’ve been a Marriott Titanium member and in the Bonvoy program for 12 years, and I’ve stayed at Moxy’s before. I’ve never had such a bad experience. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The staff were rude and unreasonable, and didn’t seem to care about customer service. We told reception there were two of us when we checked in, and they confirmed breakfast was included. They even gave us vouchers for two people. But on our second day, someone came over while we were getting eggs, in front of everyone, and said breakfast was included for only one person and the other had to pay. It made no sense, but reception said they’d fix it. Later that afternoon, after I’d put the unpleasant situation behind me, hotel manager Kim emailed to say they’d offer the first day’s breakfast for free as a “good will” gesture. But we’d both already had breakfast without any problem on the first day, so that offer was nothing. They made a big deal out of something insignificant. I can’t believe Marriott puts its name on this hotel. It doesn’t come close to a three-star standard. Such a disappointing stay.

The location felt safe and was close to both the city centre and the train and bus stations. We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were great, and the staff were friendly and professional.

The breakfast alone was truly outstanding and well worth the visit. We also found the whole hotel beautifully decorated in a modern style, and everyone we dealt with was so friendly and helpful. Thank you, Moxy Annecy.

At checkout, they mistakenly charged us for breakfast, then removed the charge when I pointed out that it was included. Earlier, when we asked about room cleaning, reception staff member Mimi was extremely rude. The next morning we raised it with the hotel manager, but he didn't seem to care. He said he'd look into it and offered no real resolution. The staff were really unfriendly, and this hotel doesn't deserve the Marriott Bonvoy brand.
