L'Auberge Espagnole - Bed & Breakfast

Right in central Apt, this was a spacious place to stay, really a fully equipped apartment. Breakfast was simple but good, and we ate it on a terrace with a wonderful view.

A charming, slightly quirky B&B right in the heart of Apt. The room and breakfast were both nice, and the hosts were lovely. Definitely worth taking a detour off the autoroute.

The meal was nothing special and arrived cold after painfully slow, chaotic service. The waiters didn't seem to know what they were doing. Terrible experience.

The owners were so helpful, even looking up bus times on their phones for my trip to Aix-en-Provence the next day. They also suggested restaurants and gave me distances to the villages and monasteries I wanted to see. I used the place as a base in July after renting a road bike in Apt and riding around to spots such as Roussillon and Ménerbes. I spent most of my time out, but the spacious bedroom and kitchen made it easy to relax when I came back. It felt more like living in town than being in an ordinary hotel. Breakfast on the terrace, looking out at the nearby church and streets, was fantastic.
