Arcanse by Inwood Hotels

The beach is nearby, the room was clean, and the furniture was in good shape. Staff were friendly, and the restaurant they suggested was a good choice. You can reserve a space in the hotel's lot ahead of time, which is probably useful, since nearby parking may be hard to find if the hotel lot is full. Our view was okay, and breakfast was fine, though nothing special. It was good quality, but at this price we expected something more. The hotel also felt a bit overpriced, and there's no restaurant inside. We can recommend staying here.

Rooms are very clean and come with plenty of complimentary toiletries, a safe, and a small balcony. They're on the small side, but still fine for a couple or one person for a few nights. The central Arcachon location is handy for both the beach and transport. Staff were excellent and spoke perfect English. It's a clean, modern hotel, and I'd book again.

A last-minute booking that worked out well. The room was small but comfortable, with a great bed and pillows that made for a restful night. The lobby, entrance, breakfast room and elevator were all clean and stylish, and everything worked. Breakfast was okay, though it could have offered a little more variety. Parking is secure but the spaces are tight to maneuver in and out of. A nice surprise for electric car drivers: there are three chargers in the covered parking area, enough to charge most cars overnight and leave with a full battery. Much appreciated.

After a hot day of cycling, we arrived for our one-night stay on a tour of France and learned that, despite the hotel's claim of being bike friendly, we'd have to park in the basement garage. The designated bike area was buried under garbage. While trying to clear a space, I stepped in wet paint and got it all over my shoes. I had to take them off and walk through broken glass and, seriously, a razor blade. I showed the staff, and they did nothing. The room was as tiny as they'd warned us, with a cheap, bad toilet seat, and the shower sent water across the bathroom floor. The lobby was nice, though not fancy, more Cleveland nice. No coffee in the morning unless you paid for the expensive breakfast. The staff were nice enough, but this felt like a big, dumb chain hotel, with a filthy basement and a centipede.
