Best Western Arcachon Le Port

The rooftop terrace is a lovely place to relax, and breakfast was delicious and worth paying for. The rooms were spotless and spacious, with very comfortable beds and great showers. We got there three hours before we expected and asked if we could leave our car while we went for a walk. The receptionist told us our rooms were already ready, so we could check in right away. We really appreciated that. The whole team was friendly, and nothing felt like too much trouble. Thank you for looking after us, we'll definitely return. This hotel deserves a rating higher than three stars!

The hotel is now called Best Western - Arcachon Port, which confused me at first. I booked a quick last-minute trip because I was missing the beach, and the low price had me a little nervous. There was no need to worry: the room was clean and comfortable, and I think I got an upgrade to a slightly larger one, so space wasn't an issue. I was on the ground floor and initially felt uneasy about facing the parking lot because the curtains were thin. But the blackout blinds helped a lot once I closed them. Everyone on staff was friendly and spoke English, which was nice since I only know some French. The rooftop view is pretty, too. It's in a quiet residential area with beautiful houses. The walk from the train station takes about 7-10 minutes and is pleasant. I don't mind walking, and the beach was around 10 minutes away, with a cute little boardwalk. The city centre, pier, and more restaurants were about 15 minutes away. I didn't try breakfast, so can't comment on that.

The staff were really helpful overall, though one person shouldn't be working there. They called us after our stay and accused us of taking two pillows, which felt rude and very weird. The residence is in a relaxed area within walking distance of the beach. Parking costs 10 euros a night, though you can park on the street. Breakfast was OK, but the small room had a horrible atmosphere and wasn't cleaned well. You can take breakfast up to the really nice roof terrace.

The rooftop solarium has lovely views across the marina and town, and it's a great place for wine and a baguette. The hotel isn't in the town centre, but it's close to the marina and the start of the beach boardwalk. My recently refurbished room was clean, nicely decorated, and had a small built-in kitchen.
