The location was great, close to everything but away from the noisy centres. Management were really friendly and helpful, and the hotel was beautiful, comfortable and clean. I'd definitely stay again.

A quiet room, a very comfortable bed, and a fan that kept us cool enough. The staff also accommodated our special breakfast requests. This is a charming hotel with lovely local staff, just a couple of metres from the seaside. We'll return.

We lost the room and all 230 euros we had paid after getting stuck in traffic. It was mid-August, high season, and we couldn't find another hotel, so we slept in the car. The owner had said the door would be locked at 20:00 and that we wouldn't get our room if we arrived later. We asked him to wait 45 minutes so we could find a solution, but he refused. We also asked about cancelling for free, and he wouldn't agree, repeating that check-in had to be by 20:00. It was an extremely expensive experience, and we felt robbed. For a hotel at this price, I'd expect more flexibility and customer service. If nobody can help after 20:00, they shouldn't run a hotel. In high season, the owner seemed to think rooms selling out gave him license to treat people without empathy. I'd warn anyone driving or flying here: traffic or a delayed flight could leave you locked out, and the hotel offers no solution. Don't book it. A note in reply to the director: I didn't ask to cancel the booking. I only asked for enough time to drive around Arcachon Bay to reach the hotel on the other side. I contacted you several times to explain that we'd arrived on the other side, thinking we could take the ferry closer to the hotel. I never asked for anything beyond directions for where to collect the key or check in, which we'd already done online, and whether there'd be an extra charge for arriving 45 minutes after the 20:00 summer cutoff, not at midnight. Your reply was immediately rude and disrespectful to both me and my girlfriend, who was trying to explain that we had nowhere else to sleep in mid-August. You aren't Airfrance or Lufthansa, and you might want to come back down to earth before writing nonsense like “C'est pas quand on a fait dans son slip que l'on va aux toilettes !” Nearly two years later, I still feel robbed of 2.300 SEK, and you should still be ashamed.

The breakfast was superb and our room was very clean, with everything we needed. It's a brilliant hotel close to the beach, about a 10-minute walk from the city centre. We'll be back!
